Best TV this year:
1. Dexter. I can't say enough about how much I love this show.
2. Mad Men. I'm just getting started here, but lovely show.
3. This Week with George Stephanopolous: Best weekly talk show on Sunday Mornings. Watching Donna Brazile (the former campaign manager for Al Gore) try to compete with the intellect of George Will is like watching Eduardo and me run wind sprints: It's over before it starts, but the comedy value makes it worth your time to watch. And the Greek Boy Wonder from the Clinton years has morphed into one of the best interviewers on TV.
4. Gossip Girl. There has never been, nor will there ever be, an actor who spends more time scowling, angry, inconsolable, and downright mean than the guy who plays billionaire high schooler Chuck Bass. If you guys aren't watching this show, start now. Its pretentiousness, feigned depth, and lousy writing make One Tree Hill blush.
5. The Office. Making a come back. Michael is becoming slightly more believable. The return of Toby can't be exaggerated in its importance.
That's it. Until HBO starts up "Big Love" episodes again, and Family Guy comes back, the tv landscape seems pretty barren.

I hope that's not a swipe at one tree hill. Don't you dare.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're watching Mad Men. It is good enough to be an HBO show.
I need to watch the George S. show. I enjoyed his book, and he's always seemed intelligent and interesting to me.
I wasn't a huge fan of Dexter during the first two seasons, but with the addition of Jimmy Smits the show has been great. If you're not watching 30 rock, Californication, Friday Night Lights, Sunny in Philly....you should be.
